It’s pre-awards season and that means those smart girls are making sure they are keeping their name out there and starring in the kind of movies that will get them those sought after nominations.
But the other fun part about this time of the year is the great gossip that goes on.
I had a little chat with Peter Warren from AVN to see if he would clear up any of these rumors for us. Some he couldn’t comment on, for obvious reasons, but the few questions he could answer are these ….
Will VR have multiple categories this year since it’s rumored to be so big this year?
Yes you can expect multiple VR categories. We had some VR categories last year but we may have to revise this year since last year was the first time we did them.
Will the rumored “petite” category really happen? I mean they have a BBW category, so why not the opposite for all those tiny little porn stars out there?
The thought of a separate petite category has crossed my mind, but I doubt it.
There is a rumor going around that Lana Rhoades who won AVN’s Hottest Newcomer award last year, may be nominated for both Best New Starlet and Female Performer of the Year next year. I wondered if such a thing was even possible and here is what he had to say about that …
It wouldn’t be possible for Lana to be up for Best New Starlet this year because we nommed her for it last year. The only person who’s been nominated for Best New Starlet and Female Performer of the Year in the same year since I’ve been here was Ashley Blue in 2004, and she won Female Performer. Ever since then it’s been more or less a rule that you can’t be nominated for both at the same time.
The annual AVN Awards will take place in January of 2018 in Las Vegas. The nomination season starts in September and those nominated are usually announced on or right around Thanksgiving each year.
