Every year around this time, I write a post about the importance of using proper passwords, especially on your social media accounts. This year was no different. If you haven’t had a chance to read my post yet about porn star Aletta Ocean getting her twitter account hacked, please do so now.
You don’t want to be the person who wakes up one day to find out your twitter account, that you worked so hard to build up all those followers to has been taken over by some jackass.
That’s just what happened to her and more recently the Ideal Image Models twitter account.
And while I admit, it was funny seeing Tee Reel’s twitter feed full of gay porn. I do not condone hacking and I don’t want to see anyone fall victim to it. Even jack asses like Tee Reel.
But all of that aside, that isn’t what my post is about today. My post today is about another problem, or potential problem with your twitter account and that is auto-tweets.

While in theory it may seem like a great way to get your fans to call or text you or subscribe to whatever, it can also put your twitter account at risk.
Automated tweets can easily flood your timeline and that is a big problem.
Just ask Dillion Harper. She had amassed a huge following on twitter and overnight she lost them all. What did she do wrong? Her timeline was full of automated tweets, just like the ones you see above.

While it’s true she can fight the suspension, and appeal the banning, that process can take weeks or months and it may never be successful.
Here is twitter’s official rule on spam. And yes those auto-tweets are considered spam to Twitter.
- Spam: You may not use the Twitter service for the purpose of spamming anyone.
- if your updates consist mainly of links, and not personal updates;
- if you post multiple duplicate updates;
See the problem? If you are auto-tweeting the same thing over and over again, even if you don’t mean to, it violates twitters rules. And all it takes is one person, one hater to turn you in.
So here is what you need to do ….
#1 Try and avoid using any script to autotweet. OnlyFans is probably the worst I’ve ever seen and most likely to get your account banned. If you can’t turn autotweets off with a service you are using like OnlyFans, then don’t use their service.
#2 Follow the 80/20 rule. For every 2 of those promotional tweets you have, you need 8 real tweets. And twitter considers “real tweets” as personal updates.
It could be anything like …
- Hey, just got my nails done. I love pink nails!
- Having eggs for breakfast.
- Wonder what I should wear today.
- I’m thinking of going shopping today.
- What color do you think my AVN Awards dress should be?
Yes, random and mundane updates about your life that you personally tweet out and aren’t automated. They also aren’t advertising or promoting anything.
Those are the kind of tweets that Twitter likes to see.
If you want to keep your account, then you’ll have to tone down the auto-tweets and step up the real ones.
Auto-tweets are not prohibited per say, but when done in excess it can become a very big problem.
Don’t lose your twitter account over something so silly.
Be careful and spread the word. Make sure others know so they don’t put their accounts at risk too.
