Adult film stars and content creators launching a side hustle is really nothing new, but there has been a recent wave of controversy because of it lately, especially after Camilla Araujo launched an expensive content creator course called “Becoming Her,” which was rumored to be nothing more than recycled social media tips and tricks that are available online for free already.
But this new controversy centers on a very expensive dating app.
Dan Dangler is publicly criticizing fellow adult star Annie Knight over her newly launched paid dating application, calling the offering deceptive and accusing Knight of charging fans thousands of dollars under false pretenses.
Annie Knight recently unveiled a dating-style application that allows selected applicants to pay for one-on-one dates with her, with prices ranging from approximately $1,176 to nearly $6,900 for an hour-long meeting. The launch has drawn attention both for its price point and for Knight’s public relationship status.
Dangler, speaking candidly about the concept, said the offer crosses a line.
“I’m no moral compass,” Dangler said, “but I will say, what this girl is doing is so messed up, because I know her personally, and I know that she has a fiancé.”
Knight became widely known after a highly publicized stunt in which she claimed to have slept with 583 men in a single event. She announced her engagement to Henry Brayshaw in 2025. Dangler argued that this context matters when fans are being asked to pay for dates.
“You’re gonna be paying $7,000 to take this chick out, and then she’s gonna give you tips on how to woo chicks or something?” Dangler said. “You can’t just talk to her on her OnlyFans and figure that out for 40 bucks? She’s trying to scam you. She has a husband.”
Annie Knight has defended the program, saying it is not sexual in nature and is designed to help men build confidence, communication skills, and dating experience. In statements to the media and in the application itself, Annie Knight emphasized that there is no physical contact involved.
“These services do not include intercourse or anything physical,” Knight wrote, explaining that the dates focus on conversation, feedback, and confidence building.
Knight said the idea grew out of previous application-based projects she has run, including her sex challenge, which she claims generated tens of thousands of submissions. She said the high price was necessary to limit demand.
“Last time I got something like 22,000 applications,” Knight said. “I just don’t have the time to go through that many or go on endless dates. Putting a price on it has helped a lot.”
She described the initiative as a way of giving back to fans who have followed her for years.
“Maybe they’ve been a fan of me for a long time and they’ve always wanted the opportunity to take me out, this is their chance,” Knight said. “It really goes back to giving back to my supporters, my subscribers, my fans.”
Knight added that she believes she offers value beyond her online persona, citing her understanding of dating dynamics and communication.
“I know what girls like. I know what girls don’t like,” she said. “I’m very friendly and non-judgmental.”
Despite those explanations, Dangler remained unconvinced, repeating that fans may be misled into believing they are paying for a genuine romantic opportunity.
“She’s trying to scam you,” Dangler said again. “That’s messed up.”
