Where the heck was the Free Speech Coalition for the last 5 years?

I’m going to be the bad guy for a minute here and just ask what everyone is thinking and nobody wants to say … Measure B passed in 2012. That was 5 fucking years ago. What exactly has the FSC been doing in the last 5 years? We haven’t heard a peep out of them about this issue in years and now seemingly out of nowhere LA County puts in place laws they flat out told us they were going to 5 years ago and everyone acts surprised.

The FSC has had 5 years, that’s 1,825 days to organize a campaign of repeal or a proper presentation to the powers that be. But did they? Nope.

That’s 1,825 days that could have been spent educating the public and lawmakers but that didn’t happen either.

Now that the laws are in place they react? Really? And by react I mean “wrote a letter”.

Big fucking deal!

Why didn’t they write a shit ton of letters to every single member on that board every day for the last 1,825 days?

The Free Speech Coalition knew for a fact this was going to happen because they told us in 2012 it was going to happen. It wasn’t a matter of IF, but when. They had 5 years to lessen the hit, to do something to fight for lower permit fees but they didn’t.

And now, here we are. Funding the government without $1672 permit fees, which gives them the money they need to raid our sets.

I’m sorry but I want to know why the Free Speech Coalition did not spend if nothing else, at least the last year organizing campaigns against these permit fees or at least a better structure of these permit fees that is far more equitable.

I visited the FSC’s official website to see just what I could find about their activities over the last 5 YEARS.

They make a big deal about the Netflix series Hot Girls Wanted, even though every one of their girls signed a letter of consent. It was already proven one of the girls making a big deal about it lied. So what else did the FSC do in the last 5 years?

Well under priorities it says they are working to support net neutrality, that’s a good thing. But still, doesn’t help us with the new Health Permit Fees.

There is a letter opposing collecting signatures at the border. Ummm ok.

There is something about HIV decriminalization, but you that’s it. Not a fucking word about Measure B.

Apparently, it’s not a “priority” for the FSC.

It’s clear it hasn’t been a priority for the last 5 years.

The pure and simple fact is, the FSC dropped the ball and now we as an industry are paying for it. $1,672 to be exact.

Try and defend the Free Speech Coalition all you want, it won’t change the facts. They had 5 fucking years to do something and they didn’t.
